Jasmin House – 35 m2:

The cosy Jasmin house is set on one floor. It has one to two bedrooms available depending on the size of the group. One is a double and the other a twin bedroom. There is a shower room, a reception room, kitchenette, and patio with barbecue and garden furniture. The kitchen is well equipped and has a small eating area with table and chairs for up to 6 people.
This unit is being completely renovated and much effort has been put into the small details. The shower room is covered in small blue tiles, Portuguese style, which gives the space an airy and light feeling. The views from the house to the National Park and the sea are stunning.
There is a games are for children right in front of the house. Guests have full access to the covered swimming pool, about 100 metres away.
Jasmin and Geranium can combine as one unit, 'Casa Grande', for parties of up to 12 people when rented as a whole.
What makes this house extra special is of course the large 5000m2 garden with is separate vegetable patch. Although part of the garden and the swimming pool are shared, Jasmin has a private patio, provided with furniture and barbecue for lovely meals and restful moments, surrounded by peaceful nature.

Location Information:
The property is ideally situated in a rural setting, at the foot of the Sintra hills, 3km from beautiful Guincho beach and 6km from cosmopolitan Cascais and Estoril.

This is an ideal location for nature lovers, being in the Sintra-Cascais protected National Park where building is very restricted. There is good walking, with an abundance of wild flowers, birds and animals. Yet the motorway is only 4km away, making Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra accessible in under 30 minutes.

The restful view looks down a green and unspoilt valley with the sea in the far distance in one direction, and the mystical Sintra mountains in the other.



Nearby Attractions:
Locally, there is a huge choice of the latest films in their original language with over twenty screens in four local cinema complexes, reachable within 10 minutes, as are two attractive shopping centres. The summer brings international festivals; classical music and ballet in Sintra, jazz in Estoril, and fireworks in Cascais.

Less far in the other direction is the coastal resort of Cascais, where you will find superb beaches, restaurants, night-life and shopping, as well as a charming old town with rewarding site-seeing.

Lisbon is half an hour away, and with easy access to the motorway system, a number of other world class cultural and historic sites make an enjoyable day trip. Lisbon boasts world heritage sites, and a rich cultural, culinary and night life. The motorway network puts the Knights Templars’ castle and chapels at Tomar and Batalha within an easy day trip, as well as the ancient university town of Coimbra. On the other directions, south of the Tagus, the beautiful Sesimbra and Arrabida area are well worth an easy day trip.

Guincho beach, world renowned for its beauty and surfing, is 3 km away. Many other sandy beaches are close by, each with its individual character. Less than half an hour’s drive north along the coast several beaches are well worth exploring, as are some excellent fish restaurants.

Weather:
Portugal is a year round destination. Hot and sunny in the summer, with a refreshing breeze off the sea; windier months are July and August; Spring and Autumn are mild, ideal for sightseeing. It is very rarely so hot that you need air conditioning. Rainy days can occur in winter, but it is rarely cold.

Getting There and Getting Around:
Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the house can be reached by car or taxi from Lisbon Airport in 30-40 minutes. Located in the protected national park of Cascais-Sintra, the property is only 4km from the motorway and so half an hour from Lisbon and its cultural attactions and night life. Taxis are available and cheap, and there is an efficient bus system from the village to Cascais and Sintra; but to get the best out of your holiday we advise car hire, as there is so much to see which is not accessible by public transport.
